NW3 CLT’s Allocations’ Policy

Ever wondered how a CLT allocates housing? Our CLT has recently put together a draft allocations’ policy that decides who would be eligible to apply for housing in any of our future developments.

We are delighted to be able to share our new policy with you. As an organisation, we believe fundamentally in transparency and openness.

You can read our allocations policy here, or our short summary below.

This allocations’ policy, collectively composed by local members of the community land trust, lays down the guiding principles for allocating intermediate and low-cost housing at 31 Daleham Gardens. This policy, guided by the principles of fairness, equality, and transparency, seeks to address local housing need within NW3 and the surrounding postcodes within LB Camden by providing affordable accommodation for those who have been priced out of having a secure home in our area. The allocation process is simple and based on four criteria: the applicant’s housing need, their connections to the area, their support for the CLT, and their financial position. In the spirit of transparency, legality, and good governance, applications for housing will be assessed by an Independent Allocations Panel to ensure that our practice aligns with the very principles on which this policy is based, as well as on which our organisation as a whole is based.
